Gret Woodason and Ruth Hutchinson calling for a 20mph Zone

Gret Woodason and Ruth Hutchinson are calling on Conservative-run Surrey County Council to make Bagshot High Street a 20mph zone.

Our recent residents survey showed that many residents feel that our High Street is increasingly unsafe.

Gret Woodason said: "We may have won the long campaign for a pedestrian crossing that is soon to be installed, but that should only be the start".

Ruth Hutchinson agreed, "We need proper speed enforcement from Guildford Road through to the end of the High Street. People shouldn't have to risk their lives every time they go to the shops!"

Cllr Meurig Williams has written to Surrey County Council requesting that a traffic survey be conducted in our village which will help inform any decision to introduce a 20mph zone.
