Confusion over the Green Waste Club

This Council regrets the confusion surrounding the introduction of the Green Waste Club created by:

+ The Executive's failure to adequately consult existing garden sack users

+ The Executive's failure to publicise an appropriate business plan in respect of the Green Waste Club

+ The Executive's failure to properly justify the cost of the Green Waste Club in the context of the existing scheme and to devise an acceptable payment plan suitable for all residents, irrespective of their status and incomes

+ The Executive's failure to effectively manage the publicity of the scheme

+ Two Portfolio Holders making contradictory press statements

And calls upon the Executive to clarify the position in respect of the Green Waste Club in the event that the Council moves to a scheme of Alternate Weekly Collection at the end - or preferably prior to - the end of the current waste collection contract.
