to fix the mess the Conservative administrations have left.
Our Lib Dem team on Surrey Heath Borough Council has saved 19% of the council’s budget under
severe financial pressures.
We have been a great team in Surrey Heath Borough Council, and we want to bring our extensive
business experience to the new West Surrey Council.
Julie has over 30 years’ experience in communications and analysis, while Shaun has held senior roles in strategy, commercial and global
operations for large companies.
We will build the new council on efficiency and accountability to ensure we can deliver the best
services for you whilst managing the Conservative debt.

Get to know your candidates!
Shaun has lived in Lightwater for over 25 years, and held senior roles in strategy, commercial and
operations in global companies. He is currently Leader of Surrey Heath Borough Council, a Governor
of local NHS mental health trust, a Member of the county NHS partnership, Trustee of a local SEND
school and Chair of 2 charities supporting young people’s wellbeing. Shaun attends a local church,
plays hockey and often seen walking or cycling in the ward.
Julie has lived in Lightwater with her daughter since 2013. With an MBA and a strong background in
marketing, communications and analytics, she has worked in a number of fields including
commercial aviation, medical and dental, and engineering. She is a borough councillor for Lightwater
ward, and has a track record of being involved in community and charity ventures including an
animal rescue, homeless shelter, the HomeStart programme, and a food bank.
